The main character suffered a lose and feels entitled. That starts him on a path that causes him to have to deal with the reality of what he was doing or did. The author uses real places and scenarios.The main character has three modes that are in constant conflict, when he feels entitled he is ruthless and callous caring about no one but himself. When he feels like a rancher he treats the women as cattle or livestock to be used for their intended purpose. When he feels like a fellow human being he is very horrified at what he is doing and treating the women.
He can never come to grips to fully embrace one of personalities and is in constant conflict. What he does and acts is determined by which personality he embraces at the moment. Then he has to try and justify it to his other personalities.
The book is well written and follows the story of a man feeling unjustly wronged, to his fantasy of how he can resolve it, to the harsh reality of once you pass the point of no return how planned and unplanned events can drastically change your life.

Great read well written!
I couldn't put it down....very good book...usually very picky on what books I read but of friend of mine told me I must read it and I did and its a very good book with a lot of detail and twists
Very entertaining read! Told in first person and the reader has an intimate knowledge of the feelings and attitudes of the main character. Liked the fact that it was set in a rather unusual venue, the farmstead, etc. I think this book is a good buy and actually would make a great movie. This topic has been used before in movies but never like this. Interesting, provocative, total worth five stars. Try it out!
I have never written a book review before, but I had to review this one. It was that good! It is a very thought provoking book. It is about a man who is loosing everything he has worked for all his life. He developes a plan to save his family, but at what cost to himself. I listened to the book on audio and was spellbound. I didn't want to turn it off. The day I started listening to it I stayed up all night. I couldn't let it go! The suspense of finding out what happened next had control over me. Finally at 300 a.m. I stopped because I had to go to work that day, but I started listening to it again before I had even had my breakfast. It is a great book and I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to anyone who likes suspense.
This book was great! I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I love the fact I actually felt I was there in the book. It created a movie in my head. There was a lot of suspense and an unexpected ending. The book was well edited which made it a pleasure to read. I recommend this book and look forward to reading more of this author's books as they are published.
Excellent read. Some very good insights. The only problem I had with this book....it was not really long enough! However, I highly recommend this book!
A very dark, disturbing story - hard to believe that a supposedly good person could so quickly turn evil and uncaring. Makes you wonder if a truly amoral person wasn't lurking inside all along and he just hid it well. With that said, I still had to read it all to see what would happen to him in the end.
